Shrimping has long been one of the industries that has defined Louisiana. Much like the oil and gas sector, it relies on the abundance of our native geography and the resourcefulness of our people to make the most of that abundance.
But unlike the energy industry, which often seems to dominate the conversation of our state’s economy, our state’s shrimpers have seen their voices overlooked even as their industry craters.
